Dental care in America runs on an insurance-based, reimbursement-driven model that pays dentists to find and fix problems — not prevent them. As a result, patients aren’t informed on root cause dental problems until something hurts. Dentists aren’t the problem — the system they work inside is.
2. There’s only one specialist for every 680,000 patients — and they’re the most in debt professional in the United States.
Adults can address root cause dental problems with orthodontics using clear aligners. Fewer than 500 orthodontists in the U.S. have mastered moving teeth with aligners as precisely as braces. Most patients will never get access to one, because the system was never built to connect them.
3. Mass marketing falsely advertised clinical care as a commodity
Aligner companies spent billions marketing aligners as a cosmetic tool that didn’t require a specialist. That messaging erased the line between a product and a clinical service — leaving patients unable to tell the difference between care that lasts and results that don’t.
